Ahead of President Biden’s speech at Montgomery County Community College today, Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chair Senator Sharif Street issued the following statement:
“As Pennsylvanians welcome President Biden to Montgomery County today, they understand that the stakes this year couldn’t be higher, and as we approach the anniversary of January 6, there’s no better place for the president to be than right here in the Keystone State. President Biden is the only 2024 presidential candidate with the spine to protect and defend our democracy as Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans continuously threaten to destroy it. Three years since a deadly mob stormed our nation’s Capitol at Trump’s urging and assaulted law enforcement officers, Trump continues to make it abundantly clear that he will stop at nothing to rip away our freedoms and endanger the pillars of democracy if he gets another chance. This November, Pennsylvanians will help safeguard the future of our nation when they send President Biden and Vice President Harris to the White House once again.”
