WHAT THEY ARE SAYING: “IT HAS NOT BEEN A GOOD COUPLE OF DAYS FOR DAVID MCCORMICK”

McCormick Got Fact-Checked by Pennsylvania’s Beloved Hersheypark as He Attempted to Smear Senator Casey

Three Hours Later…McCormick Mixed Up Philadelphia, Mississippi with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — Connecticut hedge fund CEO and mega-millionaire David McCormick’s huge gaffes in the span of a few hours last week are continuing to haunt him.

What They’re Saying:

WILK Newsradio: The Morning News with Nancy & Jason

  • Nancy Kman: Hersheypark pushed back against McCormick’s claims. Now he was talking about the prices of things. He was talking about “Pennsylvania favorite foods” and experiences […] They said park passes are up 50% for a one day pass. Not quite accurate. Hershey park then responded- The park itself responded to the X post and said “Tickets are 49.99 five years later.” […] The point is, if you’re going to point out price changes, you should probably make sure that they’re accurate.
  • Jason Barsky: What’s with the continual pull to bring all of these really rich guys in from out of state? It just seems like this just bit Republicans in the butt again and again.

The Hill: Senate rankings: 5 seats most likely to flip

  • There’s no way to slice it: It has not been a good couple of days for David McCormick.
  • The Republican nominee made multiple major blunders in the past week when he confused a shooting in Philadelphia, Miss., as having happened in Pennsylvania’s biggest city, and was rebuked by Hersheypark for misidentifying the price of a ticket to the amusement park.

Philadelphia Inquirer: Dave McCormick confuses Philly with Mississippi city in now-deleted X post

  • Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick seemed to confuse Philadelphia, Mississippi with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania while commenting on a shooting in a since-deleted post on X Wednesday.
  • McCormick’s original post garnered attention from the senator’s campaign and other Democrats.
