PA Dems Chair Senator Sharif Street Issues Statement Ahead of Trump Rally in Erie

Today, ahead of Donald Trump’s rally in Erie, Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairman Sharif Street issued the following statement:

“For four years, Donald Trump promised to deliver for Pennsylvanians and then turned around and shipped jobs overseas, hung working families out to dry, and left office with the worst jobs record since the Great Depression. President Biden and Vice President Harris have accomplished more for the American people in two years than Trump could in four – including creating a manufacturing boom that has brought thousands of good-paying jobs to Pennsylvania and helped to rebuild our economy from the bottom up and middle out. As Pennsylvania voters watch Trump double down on the same MAGA extremism tonight that failed our commonwealth, I am confident they will deliver him the same resounding rejection they did in 2020.”

Here’s a reminder of the promises Donald Trump failed to deliver on for Pennsylvanians:

  • Trump told Pennsylvanians that he would keep jobs in-state, then he broke his promise and incentivized companies to send jobs overseas while kneecapping the manufacturing sector.
  • Trump promised to advocate for working families, then he broke his promise and pushed a failed MAGA economic agenda that gave tax breaks to wealthy corporations at the expense of Pennsylvania’s working families.
  • Trump promised to protect Social Security and Medicare and then proposed cuts to Medicare and Social Security programs every year he was in office and vowed to cut funding for these critical programs if re-elected.
  • Donald Trump vowed to make health care more affordable for Pennsylvanians, but instead, he pursued a reckless agenda that threatened to end coverage and increase costs.
  • Trump broke his promise to prioritize the fight against the Opioid crisis, then tried to repeal and sabotage the Affordable Care Act, which would’ve limited access to addiction treatment for those who needed it the most.
